Individual
Schools of Health and Allied Services
AASHAS mission is to provide opportunities for faculty at
schools providing education to future members of health and
allied service professions and persons charged with the
responsibility of training fellow employees at long term care
facilities to interact with each other thus providing
opportunities for exchange of ideas. The holding of periodic
regional and national conferences will facilitate this. In
addition, faculty members will be given the opportunity to
publish short articles in our newsletter. A further objective
of AASHAS is to establish standards of excellence for members
to strive for by obtaining certification of their program by
AASHAS. It is our plan to give charter members of our
organization the opportunity to serve on committees to
establish the standards for the various types of educational
institutions that make up our constituency.
Health Facilities
One of AASHAS’s missions is to provide opportunities for heads
of health facilities and their key management personal to
network with other colleagues from around the country to
exchange ideas and discuss mutual matters of concern. The
holding of periodic regional and national conferences for
facility leaders together with faculty of schools providing
education in health and allied services will facilitate this.
A further benefit will ensue because of the interaction of
educators in the field and practitioners in the field. This
will enable the practitioners possibly to influence the
material that is presented to students who will represent
their future employees.
